Ohio State shocked the nation with an 82-70 win on Saturday in the Big Ten semi-finals that pretty much ends the Spartans bid for a number one seed in the NCAA tourney. Michigan State made just three out of 21 shots from behind the arch.


Evan Turner had 18 points to lead the four Buckeyes who ended with double digits in scoring. As a team, Ohio State shot 53.2 percent from the floor and pretty much led from start to finish.


Purdue advanced to the finals of the Big Ten Tournament with a 66-56 win over Illinois. Robbie Hummel continued his return to dominance with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Hummel has been hot from three point range and was four for four in this game.


JaJuan Johnson led the scoring for Purdue with 20 points. Purdue committed just five turnovers in the game that was a tale of two halves. Purdue controlled the first half and held a 37-17 point lead at half. Sound familiar, Illinois fans? The Boilermakers coasted a bit in the second half to bring the margin of victory down to just 10.
