While a loss to Mizzou continued the downward slide of the University of Kentucky football program, the Wildcat alumni in the NFL had an excellent showing in Week 8 of the NFL season.

Randall Cobb may have had an incredible month of October, but Wesley Woodyard was the one that really shined last Sunday as he helped get his Denver Broncos get back on track against the struggling New Orleans Saints.

vs. New Orleans Saints

13 tackles, 1 FF, 1 sack, 2 PD, 1 INT

In addition to leading the Denver Broncos defense in tackles (doubling the number of any other player on the unit), Wesley Woodyard also had a big second-quarter interception of Drew Brees that the offense converted into a touchdown, giving them a lead the Broncos would not relinquish.

Denver ended up pounding the New Orleans Saints into submission by a score of 34-14.

Randall Cobb may not have broken the 100-yard mark this week in total offense, but his great first-quarter touchdown catch at the back of the end zone helped the Green Bay Packers hold off the Jacksonville Jaguars for an eventual 24-15 win.

vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Five punts, 45.0 yard average, one punt downed inside opponent's 20-yard line

The Ginger with the Golden Boot had a good day kicking the ball, managing to boom a second-quarter punt 65 yards. He even got a chance to pass the ball on a fake-field goal in the third quarter. Unlike his great touchdown pass in Week 2, however, this one fell incomplete.

The end result was still a positive one for his team, though, as the Green Bay Packers defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-15.
