Larry King Fails to Crack the Chris Benoit Case
Steve MannJul 10, 2007
This is what I came away with from the Larry King show last night:None of King's guests had anything bad to say about Benoit. They all seemed to agree that the tragedy wasn't a product of steroid use.
I'm inclined to believe the same thing.

Jericho also stated that he was having trouble accepting that the man he'd known for 20 years as a friend and a mentor was the same man who killed his wife and son, and added that Benoit must have had some severe mental issues that he managed to hide from the people close to him.
I inferred from this that Jericho believes Benoit to be guilty.
Ted DiBiase had a bit of a different take: He speculated that Benoit may have killed his wife in a moment of rage, then realized his life was ruined and decided that taking his son would be more of a mercy killing than anything else.
Fayette County D.A. Scott Ballard didn t say much that wasn t already known. He did indicate that all the leads continue to point to murder-suicide. He also said that even the results of the toxicology report may not bring closure to the case.
I think King failed to ask Ballard the questions everyone really wants answered: Were there any finger prints? Why would Benoit bind up his wife before killing her? If toxicology reports come back clean, will the authorities look at other scenarios...like triple-murder?
For now, unfortunately, all we can do is ask.
