The January transfer window is nearing, so it's logical that Arsenal fans will be wondering which players might be leaving or joining. There is always plenty of speculation around, but some deals will always make more sense than others.
Overall, the Arsenal squad looks pretty strong, so I would be surprised if there was major transfer activity in the upcoming window.
He may be injured at the moment, but clubs will be considering a January move for the seemingly unsettled Theo Walcott. It has been well documented that the player has been stalling on contract talks and wants to play as a striker.
The simple fact of the matter is Walcott is no longer as important to Arsenal as he once was. Therefore, I am expecting Arsenal to cut their losses and sell the player to the highest bidder. Arsene Wenger will surely be able to unearth another gem to use as an impact substitute.
It seems that the Crystal Palace winger/striker is constantly being linked with a move to the Premier League. Again the newspapers have being reporting that he is set for a January move with Arsenal being a possible destination.
However, it is important to remember that the player is still only 19 years old and he should be in no rush to be thrust into the big-time. After all, there have been plenty of players that have crashed and burned because they moved to the Premier League too soon.
Palace are keen to point out that the lad's development is best served where he is at the moment. The club are currently fourth in the Championship and will be confident of promotion. Therefore, I wouldn't expect Zaha to move to the Premier League until the summer at the earliest.
I think Andrey Arshavin is a prime example of a player that desperately needs a transfer. The playmaker made a bright start when he first arrived from Russia, but he hasn't being able to find consistency in a Arsenal shirt.
The situation at the North London club has become quite bleak for the Russian, and he is no longer getting regular match time. However, reports have now emerged that the player could be set to make a move to Fulham on a free transfer. If true, then this move can surely not come soon enough.
With the loss of Robin van Persie to Manchester United in the summer, it shouldn't come as a massive surprise that Arsenal would be after a new striker. Although, it was an area of the pitch that they strengthened in the summer.
Spurs have been after Brazilian star Damiao for some time, but reports have emerged that the Gunners are likely to steal him. Summer signing Podolski has started well, but Giroud has yet to find consistent form and Gervinho is going to be missing during the African Cup of Nations.
Therefore, the move for Damiao does make a lot of sense and it would send a message to the rest of the Premier League that Arsenal are serious title challengers.
Jesus Navas demonstrated his obvious ability for Spain during Euro 2012 and he is certainly a player that would light up the Premier League. He has been linked with a possible January move to Arsenal.
But Arsenal have only recently signed another Spanish winger in the shape of Santi Cazorla. They have Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott and a number of other options, so I would rate this move as unlikely for January.
Navas would be a pretty major signing and I think Arsenal are more likely to pay a high fee on another striker. Arsene Wenger can afford to nurture a young talent in this position rather than spend big on another established winger.
