The WWE Universe was treated to an extraordinary match a few weeks ago that stood out among the usual Monday night matches. Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler met in what was a random matchup on Raw that turned out to be great. The match had the feel of a pay-per-view contest and got the crowd going in the middle of a broadcast. A match of that caliber between these two, however, should come as no surprise.

Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston are two of the brightest Superstars in the WWE today and have a small history together. They watched each other from across the ring while team Air Boom and team ZigSwag were the only real tag teams on the roster for a few months. We've also seen them in singles competition a number of times, which makes a lot of sense because the pairing has instant classic written all over it.

Dolph and Kofi are about as perfect of a pair as you can find in the WWE to compete.

They both are very athletic, able to perform high impact, high flying maneuvers, and are fan favorites. Kofi gets a lot of support from the younger crowd due to his high flying, exciting move-set, while Ziggler gets a lot of love from the older crowd for his great character development, awesome moves and amazing ability to sell. Put the two together and you have a great match in the ring, and a lot of support from the WWE Universe.

So what is it that makes these two such a good pair? It's a lot of things really.

One of the most obvious reasons is the in-ring talent of both Superstars. Kofi is unlike any other Superstar on the roster. He has a fast paced in ring style like Mysterio, the high flying ability of a Hardy Boy, and the educated feet of Daniel Bryan or CM Punk.

Dolph is different all together. Dolph doesn't spend much time on the top rope, but has great technical skills and high impact moves, and is one of the few WWE Superstars who bring their kayfabe personality into the ring.

These two different styles fit really well together. They both can keep a match going at a fast pace. Kofi can perform the big spots that crowds love while Dolph can give the audience their share of technical wrestling and sell the big moves of Kingston.

This matchup's perfection doesn't end within the ropes. Dolph and Kofi could be a great storyline, especially right now.

Dolph doesn't have much going on aside from his Money in the Bank briefcase which really hinders what he can do. He can't necessarily be in the title race because he has yet to cash in.

Kofi is in a similar spot. Kofi and his partner R-Truth never really made sense as a tag team after Evan Bourne disappeared from TV for a number of reasons. Now that the WWE is pushing real tag teams, Kofi and Truth seem to be on their way out, which means Kofi will need something to do with his time.

Perfect opportunity for a perfect matchup.

This matchup would allow Kofi to be on TV before he finds himself in the running for another midcard title and would give Dolph a good reason to be on TV before he cashes in his money in the bank briefcase. Right now we're mostly seeing Dolph job to the main eventers (Punk and Orton recently) and Kofi is a question mark now that he and R-Truth are out of the tag team tournament.

So why not? These guys are both very talented in the ring, and they have had their share of great matches and solid spots together (remember this monkey flip?). They could both use a good program and why not get some solid matches out of the whole thing?

What do you think?

Do you think Kingston and Ziggler are a perfect matchup that needs to happen? Or are these just the ramblings of another fanboy who just wants to watch Ziggler sell awesome moves at any opportunity?

Thanks for reading and let me know what you think!
