The MMA Realm: Can't We All Fight Together?

Nick ColonSenior Analyst IMarch 8, 2009

Hello to every MMA fan out there. Remember specifically the term "MMA fan" in that'll turn out to be important later on in this article.

I've been a little absent from the B/R scene recently, and I apologize for this. However, as a member of the B/R scene, this doesn't take me out of everyday B/R news.

I've heard about great things from B/R's MMA section, from commentary about UFC 96, all the way down to Mir's stupid leg injury. I love updates, and more importantly, I love the MMA section here on B/R.

However, as of late, I've found myself feeling a little down about the community as a whole.

Let me explain.

I've heard, and seen firsthand, arguments between us MMA writers, and fans. I know there's been heat between Dorothy and Brian, and recently Brian and Stoker, and of course the never ending feud between Flyin' Hawaiian and GG.

I'm sure there are many more feuds that I've left out, even with people not liking me and my writing, and you know what, I'm ok with that.

I do not, and should not expect every MMA writer here on B/R to be friends with one another, and I certainly do not expect everyone to agree with one another, but feuds and lack of common ground are not necessary.

True, I don't know the background of every feud, nor do I wish to know. I also may be overstepping my bounds here, but I don't care.

I think we all have to look at the bigger picture: WE ARE ALL MMA FANS...SO STICK TOGETHER.

Disagree, argue, and whatever else you need to do about an article. But never, EVER, take anything personal.

Let the fighters we love and care enough to write about do that, and stick to that.

People have personal agendas, sure, but never make it a personal vendetta to ruin someone's life here on B/R. Not necessary.

So to Stoker, Brian, Dorothy, and all other MMA writers out there: If I've ever done anything to aggravate, personally attack, or ruin any piece of work you've done here on B/R, I apologize sincerely.

Let's keep the MMA page the way it should be, and stop the resentment felt between us. There's enough other people arguing about MMA not being a sport, let's prove them wrong through our words and actions, not in-house fighting.

And just to let everyone know, yes I am friends with Brian and Jessy personally off of B/R, but this article favors no one.

No one on here's an ass kisser, nor jerk for what they say or write, and no one (I hope) is looking to abuse other users on B/R, or off. I apologize if this article offends anyone, and I hope this helps us unite against MMA detractors.

Now on with the MMA!
