If you can't stand the heat of Las Vegas, get off the golf course.
The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospital for Children Open at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas is going to continue to be ruled by those who are comfortable with the heat of Nevada.
Let's take a look.
The 29-year-old has secretly had a very impressive season, and with his 10-under 61 on Thursday, he's clearly not done for the year.
Where will Moore finish?
In 2012, Moore has one third-place finish, which happened to come at the Tour Championship, one of the biggest tourneys of the year, seven top-10 finishes, 10 top-25 finishes and has made the cut at 20 of 23 tournaments.
On Thursday, as the UNLV grad flirted with a 59 at what would appear to be one of his most comfortable courses, it became apparent that he is ready to add a first-place finish to that impressive resume.
Moore is playing his best golf of the season right now and he's playing golf just 30 minutes away from his old college. Don't be surprised if he leads from start to finish, which would be an incredible feat in itself.
This is, of course, assuming Na, who plays at the pace of my grandma on NyQuil, finishes all four rounds.
But while the American—who also happens to reside in Las Vegas (sensing a trend?)—is often aggravating to watch, there's no doubting his skill level when he is at the top of his game.
Na has missed seven cuts this year, but he's also mixed in a 12th-place finish at the Masters, a seventh-place finish at The Players Championship and a 29th-place finish at the U.S. Open, so there's clearly talent here.
Look for Na, who is currently in 29th at three-under, to na-t (sorry) finish outside the top five in a field where he's clearly one of the best.
Guess what? Nick Watney resides in Henderson, which is just outside of Las Vegas.
But in addition to having him here, because he has something in common with everyone else on this list, Watney is in good shape to secure his fifth top-10 finish of the season.
The 31-year-old shot an impressive five-under on Thursday, but more importantly, he knocked in five birdies and zero bogeys. That consistency will help him only improve on his current position in 13th place.
