Scott Speed is fairly synonymous with quirky and different, whether it be behind the wheel of a Formula One car or now driving his Red Bull Toyota in NASCAR's elite series.

Speed paints his toenails Red Bull blue, adores massages and other "new age" relaxation techniques, and carries a Louis Vuitton man purse.

While he has had some success in F1, he is just learning the ropes in the world of NASCAR, grabbing as much seat time and logging as many laps as he can in his rookie year in the Cup series.

But now Speed is off on another adventure, taking DJ lessons in Atlanta before the race this weekend. He plans to be schooled by one of the music mix masters, DJ TD, short for DJ Tim DeGroot.

Speed is also planning to attend the Winter Music Conference, scheduled for March 24-28 at the Miami Beach Resport & Spa. This Conference, which has been around for 24 years, is known as the best networking event in the nation for the DJ and dance music industry.

Over 70 countries will be represented at the conference. Those attending this prestigious event include professional artists, DJs, producers, radio and video programmers, and now NASCAR driver, Speed.

Speed is looking forward to the conference to learn the nuances of being a successful DJ and the new technologies available. He will attend various scheduled seminars, networking events, and may even try his hand in the DJ Spin Off.

Speed has his own DJ equipment in his basement and has been experimenting on his own. He now hopes to learn more from the masters of the industry and kick his own skills up to a higher level.

Always unpredictable and never boring, Speed indeed lives his life in the fast lane.

"I just like doing as much as I can. Life's short, I want to do all of it," says Speed.

So, forget NASCAR Rookie of the Year and move over Timbaland and Kanye West. Speed, DJ King, is in the house.
