How Good Is the Big 12 in Football? Is the SEC All It's Cracked Up to Be?

The Big 12 is a top competitor is almost every major sport. In football, how can you argue that the Big 12 is weak? Everyone should have them number one.

Texas, now I don’t like them, but I have to give credit where credit is due. Texas has a strong program. Year after year they have top recruits coming into their program. They are at the top of the conference and the entire NCAA every year.

Oklahoma is just as good at bringing in recruits as Texas and every other team out there. OU has one of the best coaches around. Bob Stoops knows how to run a team.

Some say he can’t win the big game. I think that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. He has a National Championship, remember? So he’s lost in the game a couple times, but don’t forget you have a Big 12 championship game you have to win to get there, and that is tough competition for anyone in the game.

Texas Tech is strong offensively year after year. Mike Leach knows how to run his teams. They have a new quarterback come in every single year that just dominates all in his way. I don’t care what anybody says, Baylor is an up and coming program in the nation. The QB they have is simply amazing!

Missouri has been ranked the last couple of years with great winning seasons. Kansas and Kansas State are growing and working in the North to keep up.

Now Nebraska has kind of been a laugh compared to what they used to be, but expect big things this coming year. The QBs they have coming in are a great class. Bo Pelini is giving our blackshirts the respect and skill they need to become a big power. Nebraska will give the entire conference a run for their money in the coming season.

I’m from Arkansas, and I have seen firsthand how OVERRATED the SEC is. Matt Stafford is the most overrated player in the draft. Does anyone remember how good LSU was a couple years ago? Where were they this year? They did nothing; they couldn’t keep up with anyone.

Florida is the ONLY team in the SEC that can be close to keeping up with any other team. Urban Meyer is the only good thing about the SEC. Other than Florida, the SEC can’t do anything compared to the Big 12.
