Lexington, KY—Senior center Jared Carter told the media just a few minutes ago that he thinks he’ll start against the Georgia Bulldogs for Senior Night. It’s an age-old tradition for seniors to start on Senior Night.
“I think I am going to be starting and I can’t wait for that, so I’m going to give it my all,” Carter said.
“I’m just going to go out and have fun,” he continued. “I’m not going to be nervous because I’ve been here for four years and I know how it’s like to play in front of Kentucky fans.”
If Carter gets the nod, it will mark his first career start.
Of course, that isn’t set in stone. UK Coach Billy Gillispie talked to the media before Carter and didn’t indicate whether or not Carter would start.
When Gillispie was asked what his plans for Carter were Wednesday night, he said, “Well we did it last year. I started Joe (Crawford) and Ramel (Bradley) last year, so we’ll see what happens.”
That sounds like Carter will start, but who knows.
Cat Scratches will have the final word Wednesday about 30 minutes before the game with the official starting lineup.
