Live Blogging: Yankees Taking on Team USA

Bronx Baseball DailySenior Analyst IMarch 3, 2009

I will be live blogging today’s Yankee game as they take on Team USA in their first exhibition game. So check back here for updates on the game if you are away and can’t watch or even if you are at home watching and want to comment on your thoughts.

Many people seems to not care about the World Baseball Classic, but not me, I was excited three years ago and am more excited this time around. Naturally I’m rooting for Team USA to win it all, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Team Dominican Republic win it with so many Yankees on the squad.

Here are your lineups via Peter Abraham’s blog, as always:

Teixeira 1B
Posada DH
Nary RF

Pedroia 2B
Jeter SS
Jones DH
Wright 3B
Dunn RF
Youkilis 1B
Braun LF
McCann C
Granderson CF

Pitching: Roy Oswalt

Rest of USA’s staff:

Update 12:02pm: Jorge Posada is getting excited to face Derek Jeter as the two have been teammates during his entire career.

“It’ll be fun seeing him in the other dugout,” Posada said. “We’re going to drill him. I told Phil (Hughes, the Yanks’ starter today), ‘"othing but fastballs inside. First pitch on his rib cage."
