After Wrestlemania 25, we all know what comes next: the draft.
With both titles being held by Smackdown wrestlers, and ratings issues, there will be a lot of thought going into this draft this year. I am not going to write about who I want to go to which, but rather what is going on with current storylines, and what makes sense for each brand.
First off, I see HHH going to Raw to continue his feud with Randy Orton. Then it could also boil into where DX reunites and takes on Legacy, even if they both said on Raw that it will all be settled at Wrestlemania.
Next is John Cena to Smackdown. With Cena vs. Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship tonight on Raw, I don't think Cena will win the world Tittle. Then it will continue into Wrestlemania, even if Big Show was chosen as the #1 contender for the tittle at Wrestlemania where Cena will win the tittle. Then on draft day, Cena will be drafted to Smackdown, and continue the feud with Edge. It will also bring Cena fans to watch Smackdown and could even boost the ratings even more.
Then Smackdown will get Rey Mysterio for their second pick. Rey really will go back to Smackdown so they can get their hispanic viewers back. When Rey was moved to Raw, Smackdowns's hispanic ratings went down, and putting Rey back on friday nights will boost that rating back up. Another reason that I can see is they could put the U.S. tittle on him and bring back some credibility to the belt.
I really don't see anyone coming or going in ECW. Christian will be spending 2009 in ECW cause Vince does not think to highly of him. One thing I can say is if anyone from Smackdown or Raw goes to ECW, its the office telling you that you got one more chance to get over, and if you don't, you're done.
The two broadcasters will be going back to where they once were; Ross will go back to Raw and Cole to Smackdown. Now that Smackdown is established on MyNetwork, and Cole in Vince's eyes is messing up his "A" show, those two will be switched back.
Otherwise you will see mid-carders maybe getting drafted, but with all of these predictions, you have to wait and see what happens on the night of the draft.
