FIFA 13: Man City vs Arsenal Demo Gameplay and Main Features in Sneak Peek

Brian MaziqueJun 7, 2018

There are a few changes you should be on the lookout for as you play the FIFA 13 demo. It released for PC and Xbox360 on Tuesday. The featured video is gameplay from the demo pitting Manchester City vs. Arsenal.

Some of the gameplay changes are evident in the video, but they will shine through more or less depending on the difficulty settings, sliders and style of play.

Here are the biggest changes specific to gameplay:

Attacking Intelligence

This is a new type of A.I., but it still refers to the artificial intelligence. It affects how and when players decide to go on runs, and the way they process things spatially. It affects your CPU-controlled teammates, as well as the CPU opponents.

It is similar to the new Hockey I.Q. used in NHL 13. The concept works great there, hopefully it has the same impact in FIFA 13. I found my teammates reacting to the match situations quicker in my spins around the demo thus far.

Look for a complete breakdown of this in a demo impression to come.

Complete Dribbling

This change is inspired by cover athlete Lionel Messi. He's known for his dribbling prowess among other football gifts. It gives you a full 360 degrees of mobility with the ball.

First Touch Control

This is purely for the gamers in search of realism. No player can instantly gain complete control of the ball upon first touch. There are tons of factors that dictate how much control a player will have with the ball once he touches it.

First Touch Control is designed to accurately simulate those factors.

Tactical Free Kicks

If you can get an opportunity for a free kick in the demo, you'll notice some additional options. There is now a third kicker and the choice to use up to two fake shots.

Player Impact Engine

Physics is the key word for 2012 sports video games. I'm already impressed with FIFA 13's employment of their physics engine tweaks. Collisions and player's subtle physical interaction look pretty solid.

Check out the video to see what you take from this example of early gameplay.
