Louisville Basketball: Recruit Moses Kingsley Makes Plans to Visit Louisville

Moses Kingsley has been a prospect that has been on Louisville's radar for a while. Rick Pitino and his assistant coaches watched the 6'9” senior several times over the summer during AAU tournaments.

Kingsley, a native of Nigeria, has only lived in the United State since 2010. In the past two years he has become a very coveted prospect by some of the biggest colleges in the nation. He has offers from Louisville, Memphis, Tennessee, Arkansas, Florida, N.C. State and several others.

He is ranked the 29th best player by 247 Sports and the sixth best center by Scout.com for the 2013 class.

ESPN says of Kingsley:

“This young man is a competitive sort inside the lane. You have to respect his motor and the tenacity with which he approaches the game. He's got sneaky length and seems to unwind as he goes to the rim.”

According to Steve Jones of the Courier Journal, U of L assistant Wyking Jones will be visiting with Kingsley this Sunday at Huntington Prep. Coach Rick Pitino may drop in on the 4-star recruit next Tuesday.

Huntington Prep head basketball coach, Rob Fulford, told me that Kingsley has also planned an official visit to Louisville on September 28.

Kingsley already made an unofficial visit to Louisville last season.

“He is a great shot blocker and rebounder. Scoring increased as the summer went along and he was great offensively at the Nike Peach Jam. No question he is strong enough to play in Big East and will be immediate impact player,” Fulford said. “Hasn't been here (Huntington Prep) long, but he is a great teammate. Very good kid and wants to win.”

Rick Pitino has recently become a big fan of centers from Africa. He has done an incredible job developing Gorgui Dieng, a native of Senegal, for the past two years into one of the best big men in college basketball. Pitino recently picked up Mangok Mathaing for the 2012 class. Mathiang is a 6'10” center from the Sudan.

Fulford also said Kingsley has a visit planned for Arkansas the weekend of September 14.
