Here is a trivia question for you: which superstar went from main-eventing WrestleMania one year to not even being on the card until the last minute the next year?

Answer: The Miz.

Miz has seen his fair share of ups and down in WWE, from being the most talked about WWE Champion to being on a 20-match losing streak from the end of 2011 through WrestleMania in 2012.

What caused his downfall is not important, but what is important is how Miz is on his way back up in the company.

He was off TV for awhile filming a movie role, which WWE would not given him had they not thought he could pull it off.

When he returned, he was put right into an IC title match and won, making him a Grand Slam champion in WWE.

While many would see the IC title as a demotion, I think Miz looks at it as a sign that WWE is willing to put him back in the spotlight, even if it is a smaller spotlight.

The IC title has been held by plenty of former world champions form Chris Jericho to Christian and now Miz. There is prestige with this title, and Miz can continue to showcase it as more than a way to get newer stars over.

This past Monday we saw Miz sit in throughout the entire show with Michael Cole on commentary. While responses to his match calling have been debated, there is no denying that he was remembered at the end of the night for his role.

Miz is fresh off filming the third Marine film, and the IC title coming so soon after his return could be WWE signalling that his rise back to the top is not far off.

Miz has only ever been successful as a heel, so there is a good chance we will see him as a heel for quite some time, which is not a bad thing seeing as WWE needs good heels right now.

We do not yet know who Miz will be defending his IC title against at Night of Champions, but you know that no matter who it is, Miz will put his best effort into the match.

That is why Miz is so reliable. He is hard-working and dedicated to making the business better. He is one of the major contributors for press and charity appearances and his career is just getting going.

As long as Miz keeps himself healthy and focused, there is no telling how long he can remain with the company or how great of a career he will have.

Whether you love him or hate him, you have to admit that Miz is a valuable asset to WWE.
