The SEC conference strength of the last five years has disappeared. Florida looks like they are safe for the NCAA tournament but Tennessee on the other hand looks like they need to win out and get a couple wins in the SEC tournament.
Recent FL/TEN matchup tends:
  • Volunteers are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings.
  • Favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.
  • Home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.
  • Volunteers are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Florida.
Tennessee struggles have been surprising with many veteran players like Tyler Smith and Wayne Chism but with young guard play on the perimeter they have been very inconsistent.
Tennessee dominated the earlier matchup in Knoxville and the inside presence really was the difference. Since then though they do not have any key wins and have played themselves out of the NCAA berth that once seemed a lock.
Lucky for them, they play at Florida and South Carolina and two wins would put them back in contention for the big dance. Tennessee has been very poor ATS recently going only 2-7.
Florida since the loss to Tennessee in Knoxville have played well in every game except a bad loss at Georgia. PG Nick Calathes is the key to this team his scoring and playmaking are vital for this teams success.
Florida has good three point shooters but other than Calthes not many players can create shots for themselves or others. The first match up saw Calthes get into early foul trouble which caused the huge deficit and the Gators could never recover. Florida has not been good this year ATS and recently have been horrible only 2-5 in last seven games ATS.
