U.S. Men's National Team Roster: USA Squad Announced for World Cup Qualification
United States Men’s National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsman has picked the 25 players he will take to Jamaica for the team’s next World Cup qualifier.
The Americans will face Jamaica in Kingston on September 7 and in Columbus, Ohio on September 11. Here is the roster, per Steven Goff of the Washington Post.
Defenders: Carlos Bocanegra (Racing Santander), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Steve Cherundolo (Hanover), Maurice Edu (Stoke City), Clarence Goodson (Brondby), Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim), Michael Orozco Fiscal (San Luis), Michael Parkhurst (Nordsjaelland), Jonathan Spector (Birmingham City)
Midfielders: Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Joe Corona (Club Tijuana), Jermaine Jones (Schalke 04), Brek Shea (FC Dallas), Jose Torres (Pachuca), Danny Williams (Hoffenheim), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)
The New York Times’ Brian Sciaretta reported via Twitter that midfielder Josh Gatt—who was originally included in the squad—injured his hamstring in his match for Molde of the Norwegian league and will not take part in the qualifiers. A replacement has not yet been named.

The two big names missing from the group are Landon Donavon and Michael Bradley. Donavon is still recovering from a hamstring strain, according to MLSSoccer.com, while Bradley injured a muscle in his thigh, as noted by Allen Ramsey of Goal.com.
The United States is coming off an historic 1-0 victory over Mexico in a friendly. The team had been 0-19-1 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, getting outscored 81-14 in those matches, as noted by Fox News Latino.
Now, the Americans will show whether they have gained momentum from that monumental win, or if it was just another friendly after all. Michael Orozco, Terrence Boyd and Brek Shea were the three players responsible for setting up the United States’ game-winner, and all three will be on the team for the matches against Jamaica.
After facing Jamaica, the Americans will play two more World Cup qualifiers in October. They will face Antigua and Barbuda on October 12 and Guatemala on October 16.
