New York Yankees Drop Two in a Row to the Minnesota Twinkies

Kevin RozellSenior Writer IMarch 1, 2009

(The Voice of Yankees Universe)

The Yankees lost their second straight game today. The pitching just wasn’t there. Joba started the game, but he didn’t have his good stuff. He worked one inning, allowing two runs on three hits.

Dan Giese came on in relief and got pounded. He allowed four runs in the two innings he worked. Veras, Dunn, and Igawa all did a nice job when they came out to pitch.

The team wasn’t very impressive at the plate either. The offense was shut down after the second inning, and they didn’t score for the rest of the game. They totaled seven hits and three runs on the game.

They left a total of 14 runners on base. Shelley Duncan went 2-3, and picked up a run. Jesus Montero pinched hit for Duncan and hit a single. Montero really impresses me. He is now hitting .667 this spring.
