The Florida Gators are looking to reload at the wide receiver position, and the recruiting class of 2013 could be the perfect class to do that with.
The Gators already have a commitment from the No. 7-ranked wide receiver in the class, and today news broke that they offered to another top-10 receiving recruit.
Laquon Treadwell broke the news via his Twitter page earlier today that the Florida Gators had offered him a football scholarship. Excited already, Treadwell ended the tweet with #GoGators. This is surely good news to Gator fans, who are looking for another big-play receiver since Percy Harvin left just a few seasons ago.
Treadwell is ranked as the No. 4 recruit in the wide receiver class of 2013, but he might just be one of the best undeclared players left in that class. Treadwell will enter his senior season at Crete-Monee High School in Crete, Illinois.
Last season the big physical receiver recorded 75 receptions for 1,400 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Could Florida be the answer for Treadwell? Reports from Scout.com have indicated Treadwell is interested in Florida and playing for Coach Muschamp. The biggest question was, is Florida interested in Treadwell? That was answered when Florida did in fact meet with Treadwell, maybe as a last gasp effort before Treadwell was reportedly going to announce signing with Michigan.
If Florida can land Treadwell, their class might take a leap to the No. 1 spot in the rankings. So far the Gators are No. 2 behind USC in ESPN's latest recruiting rankings.
Florida has dipped deep into the receiving class of 2013, already earning commitments from Ahmad Fulwood (4-star), Marqui Hawkins (4-star) and hometown receiver Chris Thompson (3-star).
Treadwell would just be the icing on the cake for an already impressive Gators recruiting class.
