Philadelphia Eagles News: Michael Vick Will Impress with Full Arsenal vs. Pats

Patrick ClarkeJun 7, 2018

Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback Michael Vick will bounce back from his disappointing preseason-opening performance to impress on Monday Night Football against the New England Patriots.

Vick will have all of his weapons available on Monday night in New England, including tight end Brent Celek and wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, according to Philly.com's Jeff McLane

Celek and Maclin were two of the Eagles' three leading receivers in 2011, each catching over 60 passes, racking up over 800 yards and catching five touchdowns.

Vick was without them in Philadelphia's preseason matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this month. Ultimately he was forced to leave the game early, having attempted only four passes before suffering a finger injury

But still, Celek's and Maclin's presences were missed. After all, Maclin and Celek were targeted 97 and 96 times respectively last season.

With two of Vick's favorite targets back on the field, expect a big-time performance from the veteran passer. He is running out of time to get in top form before the start of the regular season, and that means fans will see his best preseason effort on MNF.

Celek has been Vick's safety valve since he took over starting duties early in 2010. Celek is a tough player and a superb pass-catcher who rarely makes a poor play on the ball when it's in the air.

Meanwhile, Maclin is a speed demon who is capable of turning a 10-yard pass from Vick into a 60-yard touchdown.

Vick has also had 11 days to rest his injured finger, which should produce a more confident and prepared effort from the Eagles' quarterback on Monday night.

With plenty of time off and the return of two big-name receivers to his arsenal, Michael Vick will impress against the New England Patriots on Monday night.
