If the interviews with Chile's 18-year-old hotshot Angelo Henrique are to be believed, Manchester United will soon be adding another striker to its ranks after securing a deal for Arsenal's Robin van Persie.
Speaking to the media in Chile, the Universidad de Chile player said:
I'm super happy to arrive at Manchester United and it's a spectacular time for me. I'm fulfilling a dream that I have had for a long time and that I can soon make real. I'm arriving where I want to be
My suggestion was to arrive at Manchester United in August next year, but it was complicated. You look on television and see the outstanding players, scoring spectacular goals.
In securing the services of the player, it is reported that United had to fend off the attentions of Premier League Champions Manchester City, who reportedly came in with a bigger offer than United's £4 million.
The youngster has stated that this is an opportunity he cannot waste. While he is unsure if there is a place for him in United's current set-up, given the strength of the squad already and the high-profile arrival of Van Persie, he already has plans for the meantime.
I cannot waste this opportunity. I haven't had contact with the coach [Ferguson]. I will meet with him tomorrow [Wednesday] and we will talk about what he wants from me.
I am coming to Manchester United to stay and I am going to play to achieve that goal. I don't know what will happen with my future. I didn't see this situation coming myself, but my agent [Fernando Felicevich] will meet with the chief executive of the club and they will decide what will happen with me.
I want to play with the Manchester United first-team, this is my principal objective. If they decide to loan me, I prefer to remain at Universidad de Chile until Manchester decide it's convenient.
Sources close to the player revealed that going to United had always being the player's dream and that a deal was agreed upon two months ago.
