Robin van Persie is going to Manchester United, and now they have the best striker duo in the world.

According to Arsenal's official website, they have agreed to terms that would send the Dutch superstar to United. According to the BBC, the deal would be worth around £24 million. Considering RVP was the most lethal striker in England last year, that's an absolute steal.

With that said, Van Persie and Wayne Rooney need to coexist. Luckily for Sir Alex Ferguson, they will be perfect complements of each other.

Sir Alex Ferguson's Formation

Last year, Sir Alex Ferguson fully committed to the tandem strikers.

He dropped Wayne Rooney behind Danny Welbeck, and United were pretty dangerous. By sliding Robin Van Persie into that role, United get ridiculously better. No offense to Welbeck, but Van Persie is in a class of his own.

With Rooney playing a more withdrawn role, there shouldn't be any mix-ups up top because Van Persie will have enough room to roam.

Added Depth

Even before getting Robin van Persie, Manchester United was set up top.

Dimitar Berbatov, Chicharito and Danny Welbeck would all start for about a dozen Premier League teams. Now, they will be relegated to the bench or sold. If Sir Alex Ferguson can keep them all happy, United will always be able to rotate in a good striker.

With that much depth, United will be able to stay healthy and rested for every match.

Competitiveness

Both of these guys want to win.

Wayne Rooney has won a lot more trophies than Robin van Persie, but both of these guys care about the success of their teams. Even if they aren't getting the glory, these two want to lift trophies.

When they come together, there shouldn't be a clash of egos. They respect each other and understand they need to coexist in order to win. They'll accept that and start challenging for trophies.

Frustrating Summers

Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie are both coming off disappointing Euro campaigns.

They've traditionally performed better at the club level, but this summer made it even more evident. While they weren't necessarily terrible, they—as well as their countries—disappointed many fans.

Now that they're back at the club level, Rooney and Van Persie are ready to dominate. Given that they're together, English defenses could be in for a lot of trouble.

Wayne Rooney has been one of the best players in the English Premier League for the past three years.

He has a great striker rate, but he also facilitates as good as anyone in the league. Given that he has the best EPL finisher since Thierry Henry up top, Rooney could tally two dozen assists this year.

While Van Persie is capable of scoring a spectacular goal, he is much better suited for slotting breakaways past goalkeepers.

Essentially, these two strikers will work perfectly, because they are great complements of one another.
