It is good to be Ryan Lochte. He is fresh off a five-medal effort in the London Games that saw him win one bronze, two silver and two golds. But those medals aren't the only gold his trip to London has earned him.

Lochte, who is sponsored by Gillette, tweeted out a picture of his new prize.

U gotta hand it to @gillette for getting me my own personally gold plated and diamond encrusted razor. #jeah twitter.com/ryanlochte/sta…

And here I was thinking the electric razor I got for Father's Day was cool.

First Lochte has to chip away at my ego by making women swoon at his picture and now he has made me feel inferior over my shaving products. Where does this all end?

Not anywhere in the foreseeable future, to answer my own question. Ryan Lochte's star has been steadily on the rise. This is a swimmer who has spent most of his career in the giant shadow of Michael Phelps. Lochte began setting world records and beating Phelps leading up to London.

While his trip to London didn't go as well as he ultimately hoped, it was still a rousing success. That success resulted in lots of face time on TV screens, and, judging by countless tweets like the following, there are plenty of people who wouldn't mind seeing him on their TV screen more often.

Ryan lochte is like too hot for words ..

So Lochte is now getting showered with gifts from his sponsor, and that won't come to a quick end. Lochte will get plenty of people knocking on his door to pitch their products.

So I guess I better start the positive self-talk because the Lochte assault on my ego has just begun.
