TNA Impact Wrestling: Complete Preview, Rumors, News and More for Aug. 9
TNA

With the go-home show to TNA Impact Wrestling’s Hardcore Justice pay-per-view upon us, it’s time to break down where the company will be heading with their final chance to build a memorable card.

From the looks of it so far, Hardcore Justice will be like no other PPV the company has put on.

The hope is that the TNA creative team has put together a solid enough back-story that Thursday’s final touches will prepare the company for what could be an amazing PPV.

Maybe less Claire Lynch, please?

Where: Universal Studios, Orlando, Fla.

When: Thursday, Aug. 9 at 8 p.m. ET

Watch: Spike TV

Road to Hardcore Justice

With the idea of the Hard Justice PPV turning into Hardcore Justice, TNA can offer the fans something the WWE cannot; non-PG material. While WWE has moved away from blood even for paid events, TNA allows their stars to bleed when the story calls for it.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Will the card support the stipulations?

On top of the championship matches pitting Bobby Roode vs. Austin Aries and Kenny King vs. Zema Ion that will be teased heavily Thursday, there are three hardcore matches featuring the biggest stars in the company.

Here is how the Bound for Glory matches on the Hardcore Justice card look right now:

A.J. Styles vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle—Ladder match for 20 points in the Bound for Glory Series standings
James Storm vs. Bully Ray vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Robbie E—Tables match for 20 points in the Bound for Glory Series standings
D'Angelo Dinero vs. Magnus vs. Mr. Anderson vs. Rob Van Dam—Falls Count Anywhere match for 20 points in the Bound for Glory Series standings

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 things we don’t see every day

After solid storyline build around most of the biggest title matches on this card, these Bound For Glory matches with hardcore stipulations are a great way to build future feuds or turn someone heel. My hope is that one of the many faces the company has on the title cusp turns heel and takes that next step to main-event status.

Bound For Glory Series

While some fans feel the lack of direction the Bound For Glory Series has taken away from the product, TNA is doing it the right way by using the matches to move storylines along.

Question on Everybody's Mind: How do you not love this?

With James Storm vs. Bully Ray, AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle and Rob Van Dam vs. D'Angelo Dinero scheduled for Thursday, those that have complaints can file them away as I enjoy PPV-quality matches on free television. Add in the story they’ll tell and Impact will be great.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 randomly amazing matches

As much as TNA could do more to make smaller feuds come out of these random matches—not just letting guys like RVD, Mr. Anderson and Jeff Hardy float around the backstage area—the quality of the product is just so good that wrestling fans can’t help but love it.

Aces and Eights

With little presence in last week's episode of Impact Wrestling, the actions of Aces and Eights and who might be responsible are what everyone has been talking about. With everyone pointing at James Storm, the company has so many ways to go with this story that there is concern about who it will ultimately be.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Is James Storm turning heel?

While this may be the most unlikely outcome of this story, the idea that Storm could be behind Aces and Eights would be perfect for his development. Add a stable of guys behind him and Storm turns into the leader of a motorcycle gang and a serious top heel.

Hype Meter: 3 out of 5 Jeff Jarrett returns

As cool as this angle could become, the fact that Sting and Jeff Jarrett have been the names closely associated with Aces and Eights scares me. If either of those two eventually lead the gang, that will feel tired and old, but Storm’s heel turn would be huge.
