Women's Olympic Soccer TV Schedule: When and Where to Catch Medal-Round Matchups

Matthew DickerJun 6, 2018

The women's Olympic soccer group stage wrapped up on Tuesday, July 31, and after a couple days of rest, the quarterfinals will begin on Friday, August 3. The United States and Great Britain each advance to the quarterfinal round with perfect 3-0-0 records, and now that the group stage is over, both teams will need to continue their streaks of perfection in order to win Olympic gold.

The quarterfinals offer a few intriguing matchups. The third game will see Brazil face off against Japan, a face off between the defending World Cup champion and the silver medal winner in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Sweden and France finished third and fourth respectively at the 2011 World Cup, and both teams want to make sure they find themselves on the medal podium on August 9. Both the United States and Great Britain are heavily favored in their matches, but Canada will have the extra incentive of a strong finish before they host the next World Cup in 2015.
