(The Voice of Yankees Universe)

George Steinbrenner’s son-in-law, Felix Lopez III, was arrested in 2002 for trafficking a banned date-rape drug and for possession of anabolic steroids. The drug was used by athletes for muscle recovery. Lopez served 19 months probation after pleading guilty to those charges.

Lopez has been seen at the Yankees' minor league facility in Tampa, but GM Brian Cashman, Howard Rubenstein, and a spokesman for George Steinbrenner, all denied the idea that he was working for the Yankees organization. They also have no plans to hire him in the future.
