West Virginia is a bubble team, Rutgers is not. If that statement surprises anyone, you should probably stop reading now...
The Mountaineers have won their last two games—defeating Villanova by 21 and Notre Dame by 11. While the six Big East losses that they have may seem like a lot on paper, they have only lost to ranked conference opponents—all of whom currently are or have been in the top ten this season.
Rutgers sits in 15th in the Big East, with only one conference win over Big East winless DePaul. They have managed to keep up with some teams only to fall short at the end, while they have been completely blown out by others.
The question now is whether the Mountaineers will be able to continue to make their case for an at-large bid, or whether the Scarlet Knights will be able to pull off their second Big East win of the season.
