Viral Video of the Day: Sagna, Mertesacker, Podolski Bust a Few Moves
Bust a move, Bacary. Show us what ya got, Merteswagger.
And, uh, you too, Podolski. Anyone got a pun for Podolski?
For Monday's installment of the B/R World Football Viral Video of the Day, we turn back to the happy feet at Arsenal Football Club. Eagle-eyed readers will remember that we've featured some dancing Gunners before—one of them being Bacary Sagna—in a ballet-themed advertisement for a car company.
This isn't quite the same, but it might be even more enjoyable.
Watch above as Arsenal midfielder/forward Lukas Podolski and defenders Bacary Sagna and Per Mertesacker bust a few moves in what has apparently been dubbed the "Malta Guiness Low Sugar Workout."
If you know what that means, feel free to comment. Whatever it is, it sure does look fun—and even transformative.
On the pitch, Mertesacker is a lanky, sometimes goofy-looking, often awkward defender. On the dance floor, he's a suave, smooth-moving twinkle-toes. We already knew Sagna could dance, and now we know Podolski has a few moves too.
In fairness, none of this measures up to Mertesacker's best work. But all in all, this seems like good news for Gooners all around. Sagna is apparently recovering nicely from his broken leg, Mertesacker looks more human than robot and Podolski is getting closer to his debut.
So what do you think, readers? Could this become the breakout trend of Arsenal's season?
All you would have to do is perform the "Malta Guiness Low Sugar Workout" after every goal.
