John Tavares and Travis Hamonic Are the Newest Islanders to Hit Twitter

Sadly, this is arguably one of the highlights of the Islanders' offseason thus far; John Tavares has finally made a Twitter account. You can find him @91Tavares
When he first joined the Islanders, Tavares stated he wouldn't get into social media. But, as he said in his first tweet, he finally cracked.
Naturally, Tavares has already been chided and has been the victim of his buddies' (Matt Moulson and Michael Grabner) jokes.
All in good fun, Grabs and Moulson enjoy saying Tavares is socially awkward, a "Mr. Vanilla," and his tweets put them to sleep.
Tavares countered by calling Moulson a Michael Jackson look-alike. So for Islander fans, there will be some fun to follow on Twitter, at least during the offseason. It gives us something to enjoy, right?
Johnny rocketed up to over 14,000 followers not even a week in. It's easy to tell people were excited to see Tavares join Twitter.
Not long after Tavares joined the world of Twitter, Travis Hamonic came in right behind him. He can be found @THamonic3.
Hamonic already looks like a pro just five tweets in.
Other Islander players with Twitter include Kyle Okposo, Nino Niederreiter, Kevin Poulin and Matt Martin.
It'll be a pretty good and funny offseason for Islander fans in terms of Twitter. It will at least give us something to watch during the Islanders' inactivity.
