Rumor Central: Minnesota Vikings Prepared To Give Tarvaris Jackson Starting Job
Tarvaris Jackson, the Vikings starter in '09?
According to ESPN.com, the Minnesota Vikings are ready to give Tarvaris Jackson yet another chance to prove himself at quarterback. Brad Childress made the decision recently.
It appears as though Childress has some sort of man crush on Jackson. I do not get why heย tabbed Jacksonย as the starter, especially when free agency does notย begin until Feb. 27.

Now, if Jackson can perform at a high level, I amย not against it. But the supporting cast must get better. Ifย they do notย get a free agent quarterback, the Vikings can spend more money on a top-notch wide receiver such as T.J. Houshmandzadeh.
Derrick Ward to the Browns?
It appears as though the Cleveland Browns have expressed great interest in free agent running back, Derrick Ward. The Giants are willing to let Ward walk, unless they can sign him cheap.
Browns running back, Jamal Lewis, is on the downside of his career. If Cleveland can land a top-notch running back like Ward, it will allow the Browns to release Lewis.
Ward fits the Browns' system well.
Also showing interest are the Denver Broncos and Houston Texans. For the Texans it would not make sense. They have their future running back in Steve Slaton.
Detroit Lions to release Jon Kitna?
Detroit is reportedly close to cutting veteran quarterback back Jon Kitna, who missed most of last season due to injury. After resigning Daunte Culpepper, Kitna's chances of remaining on the team were slim to none. Slim has left town.
Kitna, will likely not receive a starting job anywhere else. He is a solid backup nonetheless.
Indianapolis Colts to dump Marvin Harrison?
Marvin Harrison is 36-years-old and he may leave the team that made him a star.ย With his current legal problems, the Colts feel the need to release their greatest receiver in franchise history.
The Colts are also very low on cap room after signing cornerback Kelvin Hayden to a five-year, $43 million deal.
I could see the Vikings taking a serious run at him, if he is released.
