Arsenal Transfer News: Arsene Wenger's Hunger to Improve Great Sign for Gunners
Arsène Wenger won’t stop until Arsenal is on top.
The Gunners manager orchestrated three major moves this transfer window and according to the latest news, he isn’t finished. His determination to take the football club to the next level will pay dividends next season.
Dominic Fifield of the Guardian reported that Wenger was asked about potential transfers at a pre-season press conference. He responded:

"I am ready to talk a lot, but not a lot about transfers, because it is a very fragile subject and a very secret subject. We bought Giroud and Podolski and I hope that we “bought” Diaby and Wilshere too, who didn't play at all last season. We will add Wilshere to the squad as soon as possible. But we are not at the end of it (transfers). We will still bring players in.
"
That has to be music to Arsenal fans’ ears.
The Gunners finished third in the Premier League last season, but it was clear Manchester City and Manchester United were on another level. And in order to get on that level, Wenger would have to make multiple major splashes. He’s done just that.
Like he mentioned in the press conference, Arsenal signed strikers Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski who’ll provide an instant offensive upgrade. The return of talented 20-year-old midfielder Jack Wilshere will also make a significant impact. Throw in the fact that a Santi Cazorla acquisition is in the works, and the Gunners look well on their way to taking that next step.
Of course, that is until Robin van Persie pulls the chair out from under them.
The RVP dilemma really throws a wrench into Arsenal’s quest to return to the top. In theory, losing the league’s top goal scorer would cripple a club, especially when he accounted for well over a third of their offense. But because Wenger continues to pursue beneficial transactions for the Gunners, hope to contend next season remains.
No matter what happens with Van Persie, Arsenal will continue to float around the top of the EPL table thanks to Wenger’s transfer window aggression.
