Manchester United Transfer News: Sir Alex Promises More Transfers to Come

If you had thought that Manchester United were content on just signing Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell over the summer transfer window, think again. The Red Devils have plenty more transfer plans remaining, according to the United boss.
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that the club are looking to bring in new talent when he was quizzed by reporters as to whether his club are interested in signing new players, according to Goal.
"We are trying to add to the squad and are working on one or two things.
"I think that it's always pleasing that the work [the new signings] do in training transmits itself to an actual match situation, which we saw a lot of tonight, so that was good. I'm pleased with that..."
The comments come as Manchester United's first recruit of the summer transfer window—Japanese star Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund—netted his first goal for United to give the club a 1-0 victory over Shanghai Shenhua in the Chevrolet China Cup.
Summer transfer Nick Powell also started the match for United.
With Sir Alex Ferguson's comments in mind, the question now becomes as to whom the Red Devils are going to pour their time into over the rest of the summer transfer window.
The obvious starting point is Lucas Moura—a Brazilian sensation whom United are desperately trying to sign before his price rises as a result of a strong showing at the 2012 London Olympics.
The player's agent is saying no more is taking place, the club is saying that a move could take place and the player—well, we don't really know, as The Daily Mail reports.

No new information is available on that possible move, with the United manager's comments about the lack of depth at left-back over a week ago still the best possible indication that Baines will be making a move to Old Trafford—per The Daily Mail.
And who could forget United's third rumored player—Arsenal striker and captain Robin van Persie, for whom the Red Devils are still in the hunt this summer? The situation is complex, and with United unable to offer the transfer fee or player wages that Manchester City has, I can't see them landing the Dutch international this year, though stranger things have happened. BBC Sport has the latest on the saga.
Whether United ends up signing one or all of the three rumored players is unknown. What is known is that Sir Alex Ferguson will do all he can to land his transfer targets and is still interested in bringing new and exciting talent to the squad at Old Trafford.
For Red Devils fans, that can only be a good thing.
Who else will Manchester United sign over the summer transfer window?
