Arsenal Transfer News: Arsene Wenger Must Not Sell Robin van Perise to EPL Team

Nicholas GossMay 31, 2018

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger must not sell star striker Robin van Persie to a Premier League club if the captain is to leave the Emirates Stadium before the start of the 2012-13 season.

Selling Van Persie to a club like Manchester United or Manchester City would create unneeded distractions throughout the season, just like when Wenger sold French midfielder Samir Nasri to City last summer.

Sky Sports sources understand that Manchester City and Juventus have also made offers for Van Persie but that none of the bids meet their valuation, believed to be around £30million.

"

Wenger should sell the Dutchman to Juventus or any other club outside of England that has interest in the Premier League's leading scorer from last season.

There's no reason to have Van Persie come back to Arsenal with a rival's jersey on and dominate the team's weak defense.

That wouldn't be good for morale, and it would further the debate that Arsenal isn't willing to spend money to keep its best stars. These are two things that the Gunners don't need.

Arsenal should not be selling its best player to a league rival that they compete with for a top-four finish in the league and in the Champions League.

If Wenger realizes that there is absolutely no chance of Van Persie returning beyond next season and that nothing will change his mind, he should either let the season play out or sell him to a foreign club.

Juventus are one world-class striker away from becoming a top contender in the Champions League next season, and if they make a serious bid, Arsenal must consider it.

The Van Persie saga needs to end for Arsenal to move forward, but it won't end quickly if he is sold to another English team.
