Yankees' CC Sabathia to Take the Mound on Opening Day

CC Sabathia is set to pitch for the Yankees on Opening Day. Sabathia will make his first start of the spring on March 6th against the Tigers. It sets him up to pitch on April 6th, which is the day the Yankees open up the season in Camden Yards with the Orioles.

“I have not officially made an announcement,” Girardi said. “But it’s a pretty good assumption.”

Said Sabathia: “If I do get that opportunity, I’ll definitely cherish it. It would be an honor.”
