Arsenal Should Sell Robin Van Persie Before It's Too Late
Last season, Robin van Persie made a massive contribution to Arsenal, that is obvious. Having sold two key midfielders and losing Jack Wilshire for the entire season, it is remarkable that Arsenal actually finished a position higher in the EPL than they had done the season before. RVP's contribution in goals and assists was a major factor in that.
What was equally remarkable about the top-3 finish was the teams disastrous August caused partly by injuries and the sale of Samir Nasri after the season had actually started.
This summer, there are already similarities with last. The club captain wants out, Wilshire and Rosicky wont be available in August and unless RVP is sold in good time, Wenger will be in limbo in terms of reinvesting the RVP proceeds in time for the season.

This article is officially disinterested in the rantings and ravings about the rights and wrongs of RVP leaving. I will leave that to others. However, it is a fact that this is all about money, and Arsenal doesn't have enough of it to keep RVP. I can't afford a Ferrari—shucks. Get over it and move on.
This article believes that Arsenal should offload RVP now for four reasons.
First, to be able to reinvest his sale proceeds ASAP. Second, why bleed away the massive weekly wages he is currently earning on somebody who will obviously contribute nothing this season (apart from his transfer fee)? Third, having him around is just a pain at the moment. Fourth, he is just about the most injury prone "best striker in the EPL" I can ever remember. It's a miracle that he lasted last season unscathed, and it's only a matter of time before one of his dodgy ankles gives way and he vanishes to the Caribbean for four months.
So, lets clear him out ASAP, before he knackers himself and we lose £20 million. Spend the money on somebody who will be able to benefit from the large amount of goalscoring opportunities bound to be created by the extremely talented and motivated players who actually want to be at the club.
Thanks for the one great season RVP. That'll be £20+ million please.
