WWE : What if The Rock....

RykzCorrespondent IFebruary 19, 2009

I'm starting a new section called "The what if." I'm just taking wrestler from the past and seeing if Vince McMahon gave them different angle to run with.

Most of our favorite wrestlers would never be who they are if they never got the gimmick they got.

Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock)

He was the most electrifying man in sports entertainment. He is also one of the most recognized faces on the planet and one of the hottest celebrities in all walks of life.

A third generation WWE superstar, The Rock at first did not plan to follow in the family tradition of sports entertainment stardom. He instead used his athletic skill on the gridiron, where he starred for the University of Miami.

After a brief professional football career, The Rock decided to give the WWE a shot, a choice that would begin a new era in the entertainment world. In only a few years The rock was a multi time WWE champion and one of the most celebrated Superstars to ever set foot in the ring.

This week I'm going to take the most electrifying man in sports entertainment and give him a the urban street gimmick which was given to Cena.

The New Rock

The name The Rock would probably wouldn't change but those old school side burns would defiantly have the chop.

Throw backs, baseball caps and bling all new attire for the rock.

I could only see The Rock as a heel.

With the ego he carries, the "FU" would become the "F Me".

The Rock would be that pain in the neck that Stone Cold was to Vince McMahon.

I think Dwayne Johnson would be able to carry this off, his mic work has probably been the best the wrestling industry has ever seen. He always has a great arsenal of wrestling moves and could work any story line.

Would anyone want to rap battle against The Rock? I think not.

A world without the great one

It is impossible to see a WWE without The Rock, his swagger confidence and drive elevated the company to a whole new level.

The people's eyebrow, elbow and the Rock bottom would have never been.

And come on how much do you enjoy calling someone a jabroni?

We would have never had the Rock vs Austin feud which in my book has been the best ever.

The question really is would The Rock been as successful as he is if he had a different gimmick or was success something that was always coming to him.

That's why I bring you the what if.
