Wrestlemania XXV Predictions

Wrestlemania XXV is exactly 48 days away and after this past Sunday's No Way Out, we have new WWE and World heavyweight champions. Wrestlemania is the flagship pay—per—view event of WWE. Wrestlemania XXV will take place April 5, 2009, in Houston, Texas.

My match-card for Wrestlemania XXV is:

World Tag team championship: John Morrison/The Miz(c) vs. Rey Mysterio/Kofi Kingston

Kofi and Mysterio are a great matchup for the current world tag team champions, Morrison and Miz, and they might even win the tag titles for consolation for their heavyweight title chase.

My prediction: Kofi and Rey become the new world tag team champions.

WWE Women's Championship: Melina(c) vs. Trish Stratus vs. Beth Phoenix

Trish Stratus returned to WWE last year winning a mixed tag team bout with Cena against Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix. After that, the seven-time Women's Champion might want to regain her gold at Wrestlemania XXV.

For the glamazon, it won't be so easy to defeat these two women, but she is the strongest of the three which might pull her through in this match.

Melina will want to retain her title by hook or crook and will pull out all stops to leave Wrestlemania as champion.

My prediction: Melina retains her title.

Grudge match: Chris Jericho vs. Mickey Rourke

This feud has recently picked up steam after Y2J abused all WWE legends, as well as publicly berated Rourke. Rourke, despite playing one on the big screen, is not a wrestler. It will be a huge surprise for us if he turns the tables and defeats the first Undisputed Champion in WWE.

My prediction: Mickey Rourke wins by DQ after Y2J attacks him with a chair.

ECW Championship: Jack Swagger(c) vs. Christian vs. Rob Van Dam

Rob Van Dam might return any week to the land of extreme. He might declare himself as a contender for the ECW title as well. Feeling the heat, Teddy Long might make a three-way match to determine the No.1 wrestler in ECW. Swagger will be the underdog, despite being champion, and I feel he has no opportunity to retain his gold.

My prediction: RVD captures his second ECW title.

Money in the Bank Ladder match: Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy vs. Tommy Dreamer vs. Paul Burchill vs. Kane vs. William Regal

This match will be very interesting to watch. Tommy Dreamer is a desperate man, promising to win the ECW title by June. With this in mind, he will clearly be the most dangerous man in this match as he has the most riding on the outcome.

Matt and Jeff's problems will ultimately cause them to physically eliminate each other from the match. Paul Burchill and Regal will also put up a great fight, although they won’t win the match.

Kane also has a great chance to win this match as he is a threat any time that he steps in the ring. In a no-holds-barred environment, and with a recent attitude change, Kane is a very dangerous entity.

My prediction: Either Kane or Dreamer will win the match.
