Why the New York Yankees Haven't Won Since 2000

Being a Twins fan from the middle of South Dakota, I have come to hate the Yankees. Not because I really have anything against them, but because everyone hypes them up every year to win the World Series and year after year they choke.

Don't get me wrong though, the Yankees were good at the end of the Nineties and 2000 when they won back to back to back World Series, but on paper they look better now than they did then.

First off, How do you get rid of a manager that when he was there was 12-for-12 with playoff appearances, to bring in some guy who isn't even comparable to Torre.

The Yankees tried to replace a guy who in a third of the years he's been there won them a World Series. Some managers would be lucky to win one World Series in their entire coaching career, and Torre did it in 33.3 percent of the time he was there. 33.3 Percent!

In any sports if you win a Championship once, your considered a good coach, but four out of twelve, now that's ridiculous. So you get rid of the Franchise's best manager ever for a guy that shouldn't even be coaching in the first place.

Second, Most fans, not all fans, but most treat the players like crap. When they are doing good sure you got their back, but once they start to suck you jump all over them. A-Rod tends to struggle in the postseason, but did you ever wonder why.

Lack of experience, lack of leadership, or possibly because he has the whole Yankee fan base breathing down his neck telling him he better do good or they will cut him. I would kill to have A-Rod on my team, sure he juiced up back in the early 2000's but players then were told to but the 'roids in their veins.

Don't get me wrong, I do believe that steroids are wrong, but like I said MLB was encouraging it.

Third, the media is no help either. It always builds up the Yankees every year, only to rip them apart towards the end. I have no problem with the Yankees failing year after year but I kind of feel for the players, oh wait nevermind no I don't because they make like $20 million a year.

The Yankees have the highest pay roll in all of baseball, they get in big names that tend to do nothing.

Fourth, The Yankees just plain suck. Sure they won all those World Series back in the day sure, but what have they done now, if you tend to live in the past then what's the point of living now. The Yankees haven't won anything in eight years, sure I know the Twins haven't won anything in about two decades, but in retrospect the Twins never have a team like the Yankees.

I really hate to say it, but the Yankees should win it every year, the Twins are where they are at because of a good farm system. The Yankees bring in big name players that tend to do nothing for them.

Finally, as a Twins fan, I do not like the Yankees. The Yankees just throw money around like its toilet paper. There should be a salary cap in baseball because then it would just be fair. Teams in the NFL are more even because of the salary cap. The Yankees are one of those teams that need to just go away.

The reason for writing this article is to argue that basically the Yankees are overrated and need to be shipped to a far away island somewhere in the Pacific.

Oh, and for the comments about how I shouldn't be writing, blah, blah, blah, I don't really care because if you really wanted to, you can write articles, too, that's kinda the whole point of this Web site.
