Viral Video of the Day: Thomas Vermaelen Shows Warrior Moves for Arsenal Tour

Thomas Vermaelen is a bad, bad man. Not that we didn't already know it.

The latest evidence: TV5 is the subject of a new video released by Arsenal FC ahead of the Gunners' preseason tour of Asia. In the clip, Vermaelen shows off some serious martial arts-esque moves and pretty much puts to bed the debate over who the club's baddest dude is.

The clip serves as today's B/R Viral Video of the Day. Watch it above, and then answer me this:

I'm no expert in martial arts. Is Vermaelen practicing an actual martial arts discipline? Or is he just freestyling?

Either way, I'm thoroughly impressed. There are so many things to say about this, all of them cool. Here are three observations:

  • Did you notice how Vermaelen doesn't quite blink enough during his routine? Maybe he really is the Verminator, a perfect killing machine sent back from the future.
  • Is it just me, or were you having flashbacks to mid-1980s Jean-Claude van Damme? Hey, they're both Belgian and we've never seen them in the same room. Just sayin'!
  • All of Arsenal's players really should learn this routine so the entire squad can perform an intimidating pre-match routine in front of their opponents. It would be kind of like the New Zealand national rugby team, the All Blacks and their way-cool haka.

So there you have it. Vermaelen is one bad mamba-jamba, and Arsenal's season is about to begin. What's not to like for Gooners?

Oh, right.
