WWE News: Rumored Matches for This Year's SummerSlam
Courtesy WWE.com
That's right, folks, it's time for the rumor mill to begin a-churnin'.
As we are less than a month away from the biggest pay-per-view of the summer, news is coming from Wrestlinginc.com that several matches may already be in place for SummerSlam.
The article states:
The top matches for WWE's SummerSlam pay-per-view will reportedly be WWE Champion CM Punk vs. John Cena, World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Dolph Ziggler in a three-way and Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar. Chris Jericho vs. Daniel Bryan may also take place.
Some of these matches seem like no-brainers, however the WWE is known to throw curveballs in their story-lines and match line-ups, especially when there is anything leaked on the web that might be remotely true.
Ultimately, we know Triple H vs Lesnar is 99.9 percent booked for SummerSlam, as Lesnar's face is all over the SummerSlam poster and he is appearing at next week's Raw to confront "The Cerebral Assassin."
As far as the other matches go, I personally feel a Jericho-Ziggler match at SummerSlam would better serve Ziggler over a three-way for the gold.
In my eyes, Ziggler should not be inserted into any match for the title until he is ready to cash in the briefcase. Not to mention, this week's Raw featured a segment with Jericho and Ziggler seemingly building up to a match between the two.
In the end, I guess we will have to wait and see what the WWE has up their sleeves in the coming weeks.
