It wasn't the ideal result for the reigning English Premier League champions as Manchester City continued their preseason campaign with another poor performance—this time against Dynamo Dresden in Innsbruck.

City were held to a scoreless draw, but the real danger came when captain Vincent Kompany was forced to leave the field late in the second half due to injury.

Fortunately for City fans, it appears that Kompany was just suffering from cramps—nothing serious—and will resume training as per normal this week.

The German second division side had the better attacking chances in the first half, whilst Roberto Mancini's men also had some goal-scoring opportunities later in the second, but neither could find a way to break the deadlock.

Manchester City did field a lineup without several of their big-name stars, but still a strong squad nonetheless, including Kolo Toure, Yaya Toure, Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero, as well as their captain Vincent Kompany.

The result comes after City were defeated earlier in the week by Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal, meaning that the Citizens are yet to win any of their preseason encounters.

Their next friendly is against Turkish Super League side Besiktas at 6.30 p.m. on Friday, July 20.

They play Premier League rivals Arsenal in China on Friday, July 27, the day the 2012 Olympic Games begin in London.
