Arsenal news is heating up each and every day. As of Tuesday, there are a number of big stories to follow as we move along with the transfer process. With Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski now on the team, Arsenal now has a few other tricks up their sleeves before all is said and done.
Tuesday's top rumors and news surrounding Arsenal transfer targets are as follows:
Placing A Bid On Samba Star Paulinho
According to Football Talk, the Gunners have made a bid of Paulinho.
Paulinho currently is under contract with the Corinthians for the next three years. At only 23-years old, Paulinho has become an outstanding midfielder for the Brazilian squad, helping to lead the team to a Copa Libertadores last season.
While Arsenal is interested in the young stud, they may have a difficult time prying him away from the Brazilians. Besides the fact that Paulinho has become a key component to the Corinthians game, the young talent has previously stated his interest in staying put and continuing to play with his current team.
"Corinthians are doing everything they can to keep me," Paulinho told fcinternews.it. "I want to remain here and I hope that my future is resolved as soon as possible so that I can play without having any distractions.
"Inter have not spoken directly with me but they have spoken to my representatives. I want to reward Corinthians for their willingness to keep me.
"Wherever I go, I will nevertheless win. It's not a money issue, I just want to play football."
Arsenal may have interest in Paulinho, but does Paulinho have any interest in Arsenal? It wouldn't appear so, so it will be interesting to see where the negotiations go from here.
Teenage Star M’Baye Niang In Their Sights As Well
Not to be outdone by Manchester City, Arsenal has also thrown its name into the hat regarding the 17-year-old star Niang.
As reported by the Mirror, the Frenchman is being courted by both Man City and Arsenal, prompting a potential big decision as to which Premier League powerhouse to suit up for next season. Niang is so valuable that Arsenal has already expressed interest to fly him out to their preseason training in Austria before the bid was placed.
In this report from the Mirror, Niang may be facing the decision of a lifetime:
Niang has suddenly become one of football's most wanted, with his visit to Arsenal sparking a frenzied chase for his signature—and megabucks City's intervention.
The youngster enjoyed the training with Arsenal, but City's interest—and the fact he could mix with Roberto Mancini's title-winning squad straight away—has given him a dilemma.
Normally, a decision of this caliber would not be in the hands of someone so young. Of course, most teenagers aren't a top football talent in the entire world. This decision will be huge for Niang no matter what, but it's a decision he has to make.
As it currently stands, Arsenal is one of the most active players on the transfer market. They have the desire to better their team, just as any other team does, and are looking to gain youthful exuberance in the process.
Arsenal is unlikely to slow down on their activity, so this news may very well just be the beginning.
