The Road Warriors are the only tag team in professional wrestling history to win the AWA, NWA and WWE tag team titles. They are also members of WWE's Hall of Fame.
It's only fitting, that Joe Laurinaitis, better knows as Road Warrior Animal, be present in some capacity at RAW 1000 next Monday.
When I saw him this past weekend in Waterloo, Iowa at the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame Induction Banquet, he looked to be in great shape (still with the same Road Warrior Animal haircut, which he keeps due to his many appearances) and in great spirits—not only that, the man behind "Zubaz" pants phenomenon is also continuing to make several public appearances.
One such appearance, in my opinion, could very well be at the 1000th edition of RAW.
In my latest interview with Animal from the festivities this past weekend in Waterloo, Iowa we talk about the Frank Gotch Award he received, as well as watching his brother John Laurinaitis recently in WWE, and the interesting conundrum of why he made a name for himself in Japan but never to that level in North America.
As well, the topic of "jobbing" is discussed, mainly the reputation that the Road Warriors refused to do them in the 80s and if that is misconstrued.
When I spoke with Animal after the Hall of Fame banquet, he mentioned that he will be speaking with the Zubaz owners, who are planning to make a comeback for the brand, possibility with interest of having Laurinaitis as a spokesperson.
