La Liga BBVA is in the midst of the summer transfer window for the next season. FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are among the clubs involved in the latest deals to release or sign players.

The time has come to discuss the big deals that may happen before the transfer window closes. An invitation is sent to B/R readers near and far to sit back, relax and enjoy the five big deals that may occur in La Liga.

5. Ibrahim Afellay from FC Barcelona to Inter Milan

Ibrahim Afellay was declared a nonessential member of La Blaugrana. Barca made this comment to Afellay's agent in an article published in Goal.

Ibrahim Afellay signed with FC Barcelona amidst the high hopes that he could help in midfield. While Afellay was able to perform within the last months of the 2010-2011 La Liga season, he was out for most of the 2011-2012 season.

The reason was a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee, according to FOX News. Afellay was out during most of the 2011-2012 La Liga season and UEFA Champions League.

During the time that Afellay was recovering, Christian Tello assisted Lionel Messi in scoring goals in the historic UEFA Champions League match between FC Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen. Tello was the center of attention after that event.

Afellay eventually returned to FC Barcelona at the end of the 2011-2012 La Liga season. Unfortunatley, nothing was the same with the recent changes within La Blaugrana.

Vittorio Campanile of Goal reported that Inter Milan or Arsenal may be interested in Afellay. The prediction for this summer will be that Inter Milan will sign Afellay.

4. Alvaro Negredo from Sevilla FC to Liverpool FC

Alvaro Negredo is in the center of a battle between Liverpool and Arsenal, as reported by AS h/t Greg Heffer of The Daily Star. Arsenal needs a replacement for Robin van Persie, and Liverpool might need one for Andy Carroll.

Both teams may have to pay more than $18 million to Sevilla FC if they want Negredo as their striker. The personal feeling is that Liverpool will be able to pay Sevilla and sign Negredo.

Negredo will sign with Liverpool FC this summer.

3. Luka Modric from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid

Real Madrid is willing to pay the Tottenham Hotspur $62 million for Luka Modric. The latest chapter on the saga involving Modric, los Merengues, and the Spurs was written by Jason Burt of The Telegraph.

It is only a matter of time before Modric plays for Real Madrid.

2. Adrian from Atletico Madrid to Tottenham Hotspur

Adrian of Atletico Madrid caught the interest of new Tottenham Hotspur coach Andre Villas-Boas. According to an article by Darren Lewis for The Mirror, the Spurs must be able to pay Atletico Madrid $25 million for Adrian.

There is a possibility that Adrian will be with the Spurs. The end result will be Jermaine Defoe leaving for Reading FC.

1. Etienne Capoue from Toulouse to FC Barcelona

According to an article in the Daily Mail, FC Barcelona and Arsenal want to sign Etienne Capoue from Toulouse. La Blaugrana are in need of a midfielder and a replacement for Seydou Keita, who left the club.

FC Barcelona signing Capoue is a possibility since the latter could contribute to the defense. Capoue might also want to play in the UEFA Champions League in the future.
