The baseball season isn't yet a month old, and there are already some big names that could be on the move. Let's dig these rumors, shall we?
Coco Crisp
The Chicago Cubs have officially placed an offer for outfielder Coco Crisp, but it is reported that this has been denied by the Red Sox.
The offer is pitcher Jason Marquis or minor leaguer Sam Fuld. The Boston Globe reports that any possible deal between the Cubs and 'Sox wouldn't involve these players from the Cubs.
It is also reported that this deal has been discussed for over a month now, and nothing has been announced yet.
Marcus Thames
Given the Mets need for an outfielder, Thames, a right-handed power hitter, could be a perfect match.
New York could offer Detroit Joe Smith, Jorge Sosa, or Matt Wise. The only thing that appears to be stopping this deal from happening is Tiger's manger Jim Leyland.
Leyland told the Detroit Free Press that he thinks Thames is a "very valuable guy" and that he can "play on my team anytime".
Brian Fuentes
According to the Denver Post, the New York Yankees had a scout on hand to watch Fuentes pitch in a recent Spring Training game.
The Yankees are apparently "very" interested in acquiring Fuentes, however Rockies' GM Dan O'Dowd has other thoughts.
O'Dowd has said that there is "zero chance" of a trade going through right now.

I think the cardinals should go after Marcus Thames. I know they have a surplus of outfielders, but this would be a huge boost to a questionable offense. He could bat behind Troy Glaus. Pujols, Glaus, and Thames would be a formidable trio.
