Hey Sweetheart: What's Happened To Your Game?

Charles L. GareCorrespondent IFebruary 16, 2009

The Montreal Canadiens have lost more than another game last night vs Vancouver, Alex Kovalev didn't have a shot on goal throughout this game.

This trip which has lead into the Valentine weekend has been anything but a sweetheart of a deal, with only one win so far and that was undeserved.

I don't know of course what's going to happen in Washington, or Pittsburgh.

But if the Canadiens do not play any different than they did in Calgary, Edmonton, Colorado or Vancouver, I can tell you this its not going to be a positive outcome.

The Canadiens scored on a play by Tom Koustoplus, and Saku Koivu in the first period and that was it until the third period.

I feel none of the Habs scorer's or their defence are playing good hockey, and nothing is going to change that fact, their play makers are anything but.

Unless they get it into their collective heads to start playing good hockey.

As Carbonneau said after last night's game if your best players are not their best every night nothing will change.

I like this team but they do not have a lot of self confidence it seems, Koivu has only ten goal's for the season, Kovalev thirteen, Robert Lang is gone for the remainder of the year, he was their top scorer.

Hopefully Alex Tanguay will be back soon, Mathieu Dandenault has played good hockey since he came back from a broken arm, but none of these are game breaker's.

The Canadiens need some one who can be that a game breaker and also play a good two way game.

They also need a defenceman who can help on the power play, of course they didn't have any power plays last night because the Canucks were never accessed a penalty throughout the game.

I can write this stuff until I'm blue in the face, but if Mr. Gainey can't find anyone to fill these needs, or as it was at last years trade time players do not seemed to want to play in Montreal.

And those who do are not filling the roles that are needed to be filled.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but the Canadiens are in a lot of trouble, they have not won a game against the Canucks since 2003.
