Arsenal Tranfers Rumours: Walcott Next to Be Linked with Exit
According to the Daily Mail, Theo Walcott is rumored to be the next big name considering his Arsenal future on the back of the news that Robin van Persie could soon be making his exit.
The winger is in a similar situation to his Gunners teammate with his contract expiring next summer, and the prospect of losing players on a free isn’t appealing to anybody.
Van Persie would of course have the biggest impact, but what of Walcott? He certainly wouldn’t be short of admirers but would fans mourn his loss?

Replacements
Two new names have already been brought in by Arsene Wenger, with Lukas Podolski being followed to the Emirates by Olivier Giroud.
Could it be possible that the latter could have been brought in as a replacement for the Dutchman?
Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski and Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic are names that have been mentioned, while promoting from within could be the solution if Walcott jumps ship.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has emerged as one the brightest young prospects in the country, while another winger, Ryo Miyaichi, impressed on loan at Bolton Wanderers last season.
Could it be that this exciting young duo could the ones charged with running the wings and supplying the ammo for the new strike force?
Consequences
Giroud has proven that he is a goalscorer in France, although many remain sceptical when players make the jump up from that nation.
However, Van Persie will be a loss; despite only twice starting over half of the club's league games during his time at the club.
The loss of Walcott could be felt less so, he is someone who regularly blows hot and cold, unlike Van Persie, who everyone has always known would blow away the opposition if his body allowed him a prolonged spell in the team.
Despite this, he wouldn’t be short of admirers, and could well return to haunt the club in the future.
His departure could open the door for yet more promotions from within, though, and who doesn’t want to see their club's youngsters given a chance to thrive?
Or would a big-money signing be the preferred, and perhaps more logical, choice with a view to once again challenging for the Premier League?
