WWE News: Will More Superstars Be Added to the SmackDown MITB Ladder Match?

In the relative short history of the Money in the Bank ladder match, the contest has gone through several incarnations since Edge won the first at WrestleMania 21 back in 2005.

With anywhere from six superstars to a record 10 involved in the match at WrestleMania 26, the SmackDown Money in the Bank ladder match this year currently stands at seven after two new superstars were added to the match this week.

According to WrestlingInc.com, it remains a possibility that more superstars will be added to the SmackDown Money in the Bank ladder match after the addition of Cody Rhodes and Dolph Ziggler on Tuesday night.

As noted before, seven Superstars have qualified for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a shot at the World Heavyweight Title - Christian, Santino Marella, Tyson Kidd, Tensai, Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow. The updated preview on WWE's website indicates that the match is finalized with those seven Superstars.

It was originally revealed that nine Superstars would be competing in the match so it's still possible that two qualifying matches will take place on next week's SmackDown. Speculation is that next week's General Manager Zack Ryder will add himself to the match.

Even though the Money in the Bank ladder match for Raw will only feature former world champions, the SmackDown match has the potential to be the better of the two contests at the event.

It remains doubtful that we will see someone like Tensai or newcomer Damien Sandow win the match. Instead, the likely winner would have to be Dolph Ziggler, who’s been on the verge of a much-needed push after showing much promise in 2012.

If the WWE wanted to go in a different direction, Cody Rhodes would also be a good choice to win the match. He is currently without a major storyline and could join a feud against Sheamus at any point to lead up to a match at SummerSlam.

With seven superstars already qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match, who do you believe is the favorite to win?
