Texas A&M Football: Aggies Swing and Miss with SEC Welcome Video

Barrett SalleeJun 3, 2018

July 1 was a monumental day in the storied history of Texas A&M. It was the start of a new era in College Station, as the Aggies officially became members of the SEC.

The week-long celebration included a flag-raising celebration on Monday and several celebratory posts on Texas A&M's official website. As part of the festivities, the Aggies apparently decided to say hello to their new conference mates with a welcome video of their own.

It's a nice gesture, but instead of accepting their new conference mates with open arms, the video will likely create a different reaction from Texas A&M's SECย brethren: laughter.

The video includes Texas A&M students reciting the battle cries of the other 13 schools in the SEC and features Texas A&M president, R. Bowen Loftin, leading the "Gig 'em, Aggies" cheer. The video concludes with outtakes of the students learning the cheers.

It was a nice thought, but unfortunately for A&M, this video will fall in the same category as TCU's orientation videoย and the Aggie Swag video.ย

Good job, good effort, Texas A&M.
