Arsenal Transfer News: Are the Gunners No Longer Interested in Yann M'Vila?
Arsenal are reportedly ready to withdraw their interest in French midfielder Yann M'Vila after lining the 22-year-old up as one of their targets in the summer transfer window.
According to Mirror Football, Arsene Wenger is set to cool his interest in M'Vila after witnessing his actions at Euro 2012. The Rennes midfielder is currently under investigation by the French Football Federation for his behaviour during the team's loss to Spain.
M'Vila, who was substituted against the eventual tournament winners, was unhappy with the decision. He refused to shake hands with his replacement and ignored France boss Laurent Blanc as he made his way from the field.

Ironically enough, it was Olivier Giroud who replaced him, a man who Arsenal recently acquired in the transfer window for £12 million from Montpellier.
It is believed that M'Vila's actions, as well as his poor performances at the tournament, will lead the Gunners to drop their interest and search for other options.
Having said that, I wouldn't be so quick to categorically agree with the report. I wouldn't be so sure that Arsene Wenger and Arsenal aren't still interested in the Rennes midfielder.
Arsenal's interest in M'Vila existed before his latest spat, but it also existed after the 22-year-old had been arrested three times in two years. The Gunners knew full well of the issues that M'Vila has off the pitch, which means that this latest incident won't have changed their perception on him too much.
Even so, with the retention of Robin van Persie nowhere complete, and Arsenal desperate to establish themselves as an English Premier League and UEFA Champions League contender once more, M'Vila is a critical signing and a player that would have a huge impact at the Emirates.
He is a dynamic midfielder who would complement an already strong Gunners attack. He would, with Olivier Giroud, Lukas Podolski and hopefully Robin van Persie, spearhead a dominant side and turn Arsenal into one of the most feared teams in the league once more.
Arsenal will still be strong without him, but for the current asking price, he is an absolute steal for Arsene Wenger. Furthermore, the Frenchman is unlikely to change his mind just because of one incident and one poor tournament from M'Vila.
The Gunners knew full well what they were getting into with M'Vila—his behaviour at Euro 2012 won't have been a huge shock to the system as some are suggesting.
It probably wasn't even a shock at all.
Will Arsenal continue to pursue Yann M'Vila?
